Seized 600 pills of methyl parathion.
On May 12, Suzhou Customs, a subsidiary of Nanjing Customs, seized a total of 600 tablets of the first-class controlled substance Paracetamol Methanol in the entry postal channel. The customs office stationed at the post office discovered abnormal images in an incoming mail during X-ray inspection. Upon manual inspection, it was found that the mail contained 600 tablets of Paracetamol Methanol packaged in aluminum-plastic wrapping, which was identified as a first-class controlled substance in the category of psychotropic drugs. Paracetamol Methanol, also known as "smart drug", is a central stimulant with strong addictive and dependence properties. Long-term high-dose intake can lead to side effects such as insomnia, dizziness, nausea, and anorexia. It is classified as a first-class psychotropic drug strictly controlled by China. Currently, the customs have temporarily detained the mail. According to the "List of Prohibited Entry and Exit Items of the People's Republic of China", opium, morphine, heroin, marijuana, and other addictive narcotics and psychotropic drugs are prohibited items for entry.
