Northern Nigeria was attacked by an extremist organization, with at least 23 people killed.
On May 15th local time, the extremist group Islamic State in West Africa Province attacked the village of Malam Karanti in the Kukaawa local government area in northern Borno State, Nigeria, killing at least 23 people. A source stated that after the incident, local residents and security forces attempted to organize a rescue operation to search for the bodies of the victims, but were repelled by the extremist militants, leaving many families still waiting for their loved ones to return.
