The FMX futures exchange, founded by US Commerce Secretary Luttig, will launch long-awaited US Treasury futures trading next week, dealing a blow to the dominant Chicago Mercantile Exchange group. According to sources, the FMX futures exchange will debut its US Treasury futures as early as next Monday, with futures brokers testing the trading at the exchange this Friday. The contract was originally scheduled to begin trading at the end of March, but was postponed due to clearing operational issues and volatility caused by tariffs. Luttig spun off FMX from trading broker giant BGC Group in April of last year.
