At the "2025 Lingang Science and Technology Innovation Conference" held on May 16, Yang Zhengwei, Member of the Party Committee and Executive Deputy Director of the Management Committee of the Lingang New Area of the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone, stated that the Lingang New Area has the foundation, capability, and confidence to continuously improve the innovation intensity in the industrial chain and enhance the innovation foundation. Yang Zhengwei also mentioned that by creating a new policy system to support the development of science and technology innovation, Lingang is expected to provide no less than 150,000 job positions in the next three years, attracting over 50,000 science and technology talents, making Lingang, the "young city of young people," a significant carrier area for Shanghai to build an international science and technology innovation center, a crucial base for gathering talents from home and abroad to conduct international innovation collaboration, and a globally influential highland of technological innovation.
