Yunnan Yingjiang experienced a 4.5 magnitude earthquake, the earthquake bureau stated: no casualties have been reported, but some houses have displayed minor wall cracks.
According to the official report from the China Earthquake Networks Center, a 4.5 magnitude earthquake occurred in Yingjiang County, Dehong Prefecture, Yunnan Province at 9:00 on May 16, with the epicenter at a depth of 10 kilometers located at 25.12 degrees north latitude and 98.13 degrees east longitude. The epicenter is 38 kilometers from Tengchong City, 51 kilometers from Yingjiang County, and 89 kilometers from Mang City. Yunnan Province Earthquake Administration immediately initiated a level four emergency response to the earthquake, dispatching a team of four to the affected area to conduct damage assessment and mobile earthquake monitoring. According to the survey, some individual houses in Zhanxi Town and Zhina Township in Yingjiang County have minor cracks in the walls and slight roof tile damage, with local residents feeling the earthquake. Currently, no reports of casualties have been received, and other damage is being further verified and tallied.
