China and Colombia's trade volume has exceeded 120 billion yuan for four consecutive years.
In the 45 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between our country and Colombia, the achievements in economic and trade exchanges between the two sides have been remarkable. Data released by the General Administration of Customs on the 14th shows that Colombia is the fifth largest trading partner of China in Latin America. China has maintained its position as the second largest trading partner of Colombia for many years. In 2024, the trade volume between China and Colombia reached 149.63 billion yuan, an increase of 13.1% year-on-year, exceeding 120 billion yuan for the fourth consecutive year. In recent years, the bilateral relationship between China and Colombia has been upgraded and economic and trade exchanges have become increasingly close. In the first four months of this year, China's imports and exports to Colombia amounted to 48.34 billion yuan, an increase of 8.5% year-on-year, reaching a historical high for the same period and 6.1 percentage points higher than the overall import and export growth of China. With the continuous deepening of agricultural cooperation, more high-quality specialty products from Colombia have entered the Chinese market, effectively promoting the rapid expansion of China-Colombia trade volume. Colombia has now become the third largest source of imports of coffee and fresh-cut flowers in China. In the first four months, China imported 470 million yuan worth of coffee from Colombia, accounting for 14.2% of China's total coffee imports. During the same period, China imported 13.601 million yuan worth of fresh-cut flowers from Colombia, an increase of 14.6%, accounting for 10% of China's total fresh-cut flower imports.
