Idanna Appio, Senior Vice President of First Eagle, an American investment management company, stated that after the mild CPI report in April, inflation in the United States may rise in the coming months. It is expected that there will be further measures in trade, possibly announcing new tariffs and agreements. We must wait and see how some of these trades play out. Recent trade agreements between the US and UK, as well as the suspension of tariffs with China, suggest that tariffs will be "significantly lower" than previously expected. The Federal Reserve seems more willing to accept the viewpoint that the impact of tariffs on inflation may not be temporary.
