According to the Securities Times app, on May 13, the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Medicines and Health Products released a brief report on China's pharmaceutical foreign trade situation in the first quarter of 2025. In the first quarter of 2025, China's pharmaceutical and health product imports and exports showed the characteristics of "stable overall volume and optimized structure" in a complex and volatile international environment. The total import and export volume reached $47.088 billion, a slight increase of 0.38% year-on-year. Among them, the export value was $26.632 billion, an increase of 4.39% year-on-year, mainly relying on the continuous growth of traditional advantage products such as Western medicine raw materials and medical equipment and consumables; while the import value continued to shrink, decreasing by 4.42% year-on-year to $20.456 billion, reflecting the import substitution effect brought about by the upgrading of domestic industries.
