The United States imposes sanctions on Iranian citizens and entities accused of involvement in nuclear research.

The US State Department announced sanctions on three Iranian individuals who are accused of being involved in activities that "substantially contribute to or pose a risk of contributing to the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction." The US also imposed sanctions on an Iranian entity linked to the Iranian Defense Innovation Research Organization. The statement said that these sanctions are aimed at "slowing and weakening SPND's ability to conduct nuclear weapons research and development."
