On May 8th, the Yicheng Tianyue 100MW/50.43MWh independent hybrid frequency regulation energy storage power station project, with the largest single-unit capacity of flywheel energy storage in Shanxi Province and EPC general contracting by China Energy Construction Gezhouba Power Company, was officially put into operation. This project is currently the largest single-unit capacity flywheel energy storage project in Shanxi Province, and also China Energy Construction's first "hundred-megawatt level" flywheel energy storage project. "Flywheel energy storage" technology is a physical energy storage method that uses rapidly rotating flywheels to store and release electricity, effectively smoothing the fluctuations of wind power, solar power, and other new energy sources, thereby alleviating the pressure on grid frequency regulation.
