More than 100 rainstorm warnings in Guangdong province are now in effect.

The Guangdong Provincial Meteorological Bureau predicts that on May 9th, there will be heavy to torrential rain in the southern cities and counties of the northern part of Guangdong, the Pearl River Delta, and the northern cities and counties of western Guangdong, with local heavy rainstorms accompanied by 8-10 level, locally around 12 levels of thunderstorms and strong winds, local small hail, local tornadoes and other severe convective weather. As of 8:35 a.m., there are 145 heavy rain warning signals and 144 thunderstorm warning signals in effect in various parts of Guangdong province.
