The President of Peru announced a curfew in the area where the miners were killed.

Peruvian President Boruarte announced on the 5th that a curfew will be implemented in the Pataz area of La Libertad province following a recent incident in which a group of miners were killed, in order to combat the increasingly rampant criminal activity in the area. According to the curfew order, all mining activities in the Pataz area will be temporarily suspended for 30 days. Boruarte also announced that the Peruvian armed forces will take control of the mining area where the incident occurred.
