Peruvian bananas debut at CIIE, Shanghai port's agricultural imports exceed 240 billion yuan in first three quarters.
On the afternoon of October 21, a batch of fresh Peruvian bananas entered and cleared customs at the Shanghai port and will soon be showcased at the 9th China International Import Expo (CIIE). This marks the first time fresh Peruvian bananas have been exhibited at the CIIE, following their first entry into the domestic market in September this year. Since the first CIIE, more than 100 types of fruits from over 40 countries have newly gained market access, with many fruits moving from CIIE exhibition stands to domestic market shelves. In addition to Peruvian bananas, other newly approved agricultural products such as South African plums and Dutch apples have chosen the Shanghai port for their "debut" entry. In the first three quarters of this year, the Shanghai port imported over 240 billion yuan worth of agricultural products including fruits, accounting for more than 20% of the national total.
