Shanghai Financial Regulatory Bureau: Further explore and advance the digitalization of green finance

The Shanghai Financial Regulatory Bureau issued a notice on the "Several Measures to Promote the High-Quality Development of Digital Finance in Shanghai's Banking and Insurance Sectors." It states that green financial instruments will be innovated. Further efforts will be made to explore and advance the digitalization of green finance, encourage the accelerated development of specialized green finance systems, and gradually enhance the level of online and automated management in areas such as green project identification, environmental risk screening, and carbon accounting statistics. Efforts will be made to explore the introduction of ESG-related data from external databases or public websites. The application of digital technology in green finance scenarios will be deepened, and the capacity for carbon information development will be enhanced. The development of green credit, green bonds, green insurance, and other businesses will be steadily advanced. Leveraging regional coordination mechanisms, cooperation on green finance in the Yangtze River Delta will be deepened to help achieve the goals of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality.
