Chengdu launches its first multimodal express freight train to Wuxi South.

On October 10, as the X8728/7 freight train loaded with mixed cargo departed with a whistle from Chengdu Chengxiang Station bound for Wuxi South Station in Jiangsu, it marked the official launch of the ChengduWuxi South multimodal transport express logistics product demonstration line. According to the Chengdu Railway Logistics Center of China Railway Chengdu Group, the express train service launched this time will operate at a speed of 120 kilometers per hour with at least three trains per week, adopting a "passenger-style" operating model with fixed schedules, fixed routes, and fixed train numbers. The total journey time is within 38 hours, on par with road transport. At the same time, the departure and arrival times are precisely aligned with customers' upstream cargo consolidation and downstream distribution, allowing loading and unloading immediately upon arrival and maximizing savings on customers' time costs. "The train runs on fixed schedules and routes, cargo space is guaranteed, and shipping plans are easy to arrangeit's reassuring and hassle-free," said L Xiaodong, head of Sichuan Yuhui Freight Co., Ltd. Container-suitable goods from within Sichuan, such as agricultural materials, molds, snack foods, and daily necessities, can quickly reach eastern markets via this train, while coastal home appliances and light industrial products can flow more smoothly into Sichuan, injecting new momentum into the stable and unimpeded operation of regional industrial and supply chains.
