"On October 10, multiple test-takers reported on social media that they had received notification text messages from BC Education Consulting stating that that day's IELTS exam had been canceled. The notice mentioned that the IELTS exam on 2026/10/10 was canceled 'due to technical reasons,' and that the test fee would be fully refunded to the account within one working day. A reporter called the British Council service center, and customer service staff confirmed that the full IELTS exams and single-skill retakes on October 10 and 11 had all been canceled, affecting many places across the country. 'We also received an urgent notice and had to cancel due to a technical failure,' the customer service representative also said. 'At present, exams after the 13th are all normal.' 'Our notice states that the test fee will be refunded to your account within one working day. If you are in a hurry to register, you can first register on your own for the nearest exam,' the staff member said."
