After the Bondi shooting incident, New South Wales will launch a gun buyback program.

According to a report from the Australian Broadcasting Corporation on the 15th, the New South Wales government will launch a gun buyback program. This is the latest measure to tighten gun control in the wake of the shooting incident at Bondi Beach, Sydney, last year. The report states that the program will start on November 2, making New South Wales the first state in Australia to implement such a gun buyback initiative. It is expected that approximately 50,000 gun license holders will be affected by the new regulations, involving around 274,000 firearms. Under the buyback program, the compensation standards for different types of firearms will range from AUD 450 to AUD 1,000 per weapon, with the upper limit for some high-value firearms set at AUD 10,000 each.
