Global stock markets are rising, and Australia's pension fund annual return rate reaches 9.5%.
Despite ongoing concerns about Middle East conflicts and persistent high inflation, global stocks surged, helping the Australian pension industry with assets of 4.4 trillion Australian dollars to once again achieve impressive annual performance. Data calculated by research firm Chant West showed that the median return for balanced growth pension funds was 9.5% for the fiscal year ending on June 30. The returns were mainly driven by overseas stocks, with almost all asset classes recording positive returns. Chant West's pension investment chief, Mano Mohankumar, stated, "The AI sector continued to be popular in the market, and strong corporate earnings supported overseas stocks after hedging the currency, resulting in a high increase of 25.5%. Even with the Australian dollar strengthening against most major currencies, unhedged global stocks still achieved a 17% return."
