The first high-level meeting of "Belt and Road" energy cooperation partners will be held in Beijing in 2026.

Recently, the National Energy Administration of China organized and held the first high-level meeting of the 2026 "Belt and Road" Energy Cooperation Partnership in Beijing. During the meeting, the Secretariat of the Partnership reported on the progress of the work related to the "Belt and Road" Energy Cooperation Partnership in 2026 and the work plan for the second half of the year. They also introduced the plan for the establishment of the Council and the preliminary arrangements for the fourth Ministerial Meeting. Representatives from member countries introduced the energy development situation in their respective countries, highly recognizing the important role of the partnership in promoting practical energy cooperation and providing constructive suggestions for improving the partnership mechanism. The meeting focused on key issues such as the establishment of the Council and the preparation for the fourth Ministerial Meeting, consolidating consensus among countries, refining operational plans, and improving platform mechanisms in order to lay a solid groundwork for the fourth "Belt and Road" Energy Ministerial Meeting scheduled to be held in Qingdao in November of this year.
