Certified public accountants play an important role in maintaining the order of the market economy and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the public. The decision to amend the Certified Public Accountants Law was passed at the 23rd meeting of the Standing Committee of the Fourteenth National People's Congress on June 26, and will be implemented from January 1, 2027. This amendment to the Certified Public Accountants Law focuses on strengthening the Party's leadership, improving regulatory measures, increasing accountability, and addressing prominent issues in the industry such as audit fraud, while keeping the basic framework and main systems of the current law unchanged. It aims to strengthen the "gatekeeper" role of the CPA industry and promote a healthier development of the industry.
