The Shanxi Energy Regulatory Office, in collaboration with the Shanxi Provincial Energy Administration, organized a meeting between the grid companies and power generation enterprises to discuss and analyze the power supply situation during peak summer demand. The meeting emphasized the importance of utilizing the electricity market mechanism effectively to ensure a stable power supply. The meeting also called for the electricity market operating agencies to fully utilize the role of the spot market in discovering real-time prices and accurately reflecting supply and demand dynamics. It also encouraged power generation companies to participate actively in the inter-provincial spot market and maximize the benefit of grid coordination through market mechanisms. The meeting stressed the need to closely monitor and analyze the operation of the spot market, especially during the summer period, with a focus on high electricity prices, floor prices, and retail market operations. It also called for the establishment of emergency response systems to handle market anomalies and sudden supply-demand gaps to prevent large price fluctuations. Power generation enterprises were urged to comply with grid operation assessment requirements, strictly adhere to dispatch discipline, schedule maintenance periods effectively, strengthen unit operation and maintenance management, ensure coal reserves, and reduce obstacles to output and non-stop units, to ensure that the units have the ability to provide stable and sufficient power.
