The 9th China International Import Expo Kenya Symposium was held in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya on the 23rd. Representatives from government agencies, chambers of commerce and enterprises from both China and Kenya participated in the event. Zhou Zhencheng, Minister Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Kenya, stated in his speech that the Import Expo has been successfully held for eight sessions and has become a global international public product. As the theme country of "Export to China" this year, Kenya will deepen China's and other countries' understanding of Kenya through comprehensive exhibitions, and create new opportunities for Kenyan companies to expand into the Chinese market. By using exhibition exchanges as a link, the scope of cooperation will extend from commodity trade to investment cooperation, extending the industrial chain, optimizing industrial structure, promoting industrial upgrading, and facilitating the continuous healthy development of Sino-Kenyan economic and trade cooperation. Eric Ruto, the Chairman of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that the development momentum of Kenya-China trade relations is exciting, and the Import Expo is a key strategic platform for Kenya to diversify its exports and connect more Kenyan producers with Chinese buyers. This year's Import Expo in Kenya will focus on showcasing high value-added agricultural and natural products such as avocados, macadamia nuts, tea, coffee, as well as leather products, handicrafts, etc., in line with the growing demand of Chinese consumers for African origin products. Hua Wei, President of the National Convention and Exhibition Center Limited, stated that since the first Import Expo, nearly 80 Kenyan companies have participated in the exhibition, entering the Chinese market through this platform. The Import Expo has become an important link connecting businesses from both countries and promoting practical cooperation.
