Meta and other social media companies will pay $27 million to settle a lawsuit from the Kentucky school district.

On May 30th local time, it was reported that social media companies such as Meta, Snap, and YouTube will collectively pay approximately $27 million to settle a lawsuit brought by the Breckinridge County School District in Kentucky, USA, regarding social media addiction. Some of the companies announced earlier this month that they had reached agreements with the plaintiffs, but did not disclose the specific amount of the settlement.
