From May 11th to May 13th, the Douyin Group Short Drama Copyright Center held the first Short Drama Industry Conference at the Changsha International Conference Center in Hunan. During the conference, the most anticipated topic in the industry was still the incentive policy of the Douyin Group Short Drama Copyright Center for live-action short dramas. "The guaranteed support budget for live-action short dramas in 2026 exceeds 1.5 billion yuan, with an average increase of about 60% from last year," said Hua Yuesheng, head of content cooperation at the Douyin Group Short Drama Copyright Center. The platform will provide precise support in four main directions: first, for core categories of live-action dramas, the content revenue share ratio will be raised comprehensively, and a more generous reward mechanism will be provided; second, the establishment of a top drama incentive policy with a maximum of 1.5 million yuan per episode, encouraging creators to strive for benchmark works; third, the introduction of up to 20% incentive for sequels, encouraging serialized development and extending the lifespan of the IP; fourth, the establishment of a special fund of 200 million yuan to support innovative and differentiated content in genres such as realism, mystery, and urban panorama.
