The European think tank, the European Policy Research Center, recently pointed out that the Iranian conflict is having an impact on European energy security, with the liquefied natural gas supply chain experiencing particularly severe turmoil. In this round of Middle East conflicts, the world's largest liquefied natural gas production base in Qatar, Ras Laffan, was attacked, with about 17% of its production capacity damaged, leading to a significant tightening of global supply and driving up natural gas prices. In this context, the European Union's plan to reduce its reliance on Russian natural gas is being disrupted, and internal disagreements within the EU on whether to relax sanctions on Russian energy are likely to escalate further.
