All 10 provinces will implement spring and autumn breaks for primary and secondary schools throughout the province.
More and more primary and secondary schools in many places are now having spring and autumn breaks. Recently, the Department of Education of Hainan Province and twelve other departments issued a notice, implementing the spring and autumn break system in compulsory education schools throughout the province starting this year. Elementary and middle schools can arrange staggered segments, and kindergartens and high schools are encouraged to implement the spring and autumn break or autumn break systems according to their actual situation, guiding students to step out of the campus, get close to nature, broaden their horizons, and increase their knowledge, promoting the comprehensive development of students' physical and mental health. In addition to provinces such as Zhejiang, Sichuan, Jiangsu, Anhui, Chongqing, Shandong, Hunan, and Guizhou that have already announced the implementation of spring and autumn breaks for primary and secondary schools, there are now a total of 10 provinces in which the system is in place. Furthermore, places like Jiayuguan and Longnan in Gansu, Anding District in Longnan, Shenyang and Dalian in Liaoning, Foshan in Guangdong, Hanzhong in Shaanxi, and Enshi in Hubei have also implemented spring and autumn breaks for primary and secondary schools. On April 17th, the State Council Information Office held a thematic press conference on the theme of "Starting the '14th Five-Year Plan'". Wang Changlin, Deputy Director of the National Development and Reform Commission, stated during the conference that more places with conditions should actively explore the implementation of spring and autumn breaks for primary and secondary schools. At the same time, efforts should be made to ensure the connection between students' holidays and parents' paid annual leave, increase the supply of parent-child tours, study tours, and holiday care services, allowing parents to have more time to accompany their children on trips.
