Uber promises to invest $10 billion to develop robot taxis and achieve strategic transformation.

According to the Financial Times report on Wednesday, Uber has pledged to invest over $10 billion to purchase thousands of self-driving cars and take a stake in their developers, breaking its asset-light "gig economy" business model in order to avoid disruption from robot taxis.
