UAE Emirates Global Aluminium: Taweelah Aluminium plant may take a year to resume production after being damaged

The largest aluminum producer in the Middle East said that it may take up to a year for its factory in Abu Dhabi to resume production after being attacked and damaged a week ago. Emirates Global Aluminium said in a statement that its Taweelah smelter suffered severe damage and is now in an emergency shutdown state. The company has completed an initial damage assessment of its facilities in the UAE. The company also mentioned that other facilities in Taweelah, including the alumina refinery and metal recycling plant, may resume partial production sooner after the completion of the final damage assessment.
