An oil tanker exploded in waters near Kuwait.

The UK Maritime Trade Operations office said in a statement on the 4th that an explosion occurred on an oil tanker anchored near Kuwait, with no casualties reported. The statement said that the captain of the tanker reported hearing a "huge explosion" from the port side of the tanker, and later saw a small boat leaving the area. The statement added that there was fuel leakage into the sea, the ship was taking on water, but there was no fire and all crew members were safe.
