President Trump announced the data center energy agreement.
President Trump announced that his administration has reached an agreement with large tech companies to allow them to build power plants for artificial intelligence data centers in order to avoid surging electricity prices in surrounding communities. "Many Americans are also concerned that the energy demands of AI data centers may unfairly drive up their electricity bills," said Trump. "Tonight, I am pleased to announce that a new 'Ratepayer Protection Commitment' has been negotiated."
Trump stated, "We have informed the tech companies that they have a responsibility to secure their own power needs," so that "everyone's electricity prices do not increase." "This is a unique strategy that our country has not seen before," Trump said. "We have an outdated power grid- it can never handle the kind of scale and amount of power required. So I told them, they can build their own power plants and must produce their own electricity."
