President Trump has once again mentioned his "great healthcare plan" that he announced last month, which is the government's proposal to reduce healthcare costs. The government has been trying to implement parts of this plan. He has repeatedly expressed his hope that funds can be directly used for patients, rather than going to insurance companies. "I want to stop paying all the money to big insurance companies and instead give this money directly to the people," he said. He also called for healthcare service providers to achieve the highest level of price transparency. Trump also boasted about his government's efforts in lowering the costs of various prescription drugs, including fertility drugs. As part of his efforts to lower the cost of fertility drugs, he introduced a couple whose fertility drug costs had been reduced by several thousand dollars. The president stated that other presidents have only "talked the talk" when it comes to lowering drug prices. Trump emphasized agreements reached with pharmaceutical companies to consider the U.S. as a "most favored nation" and provide drugs at lower prices. Trump urged Congress to codify his most favored nation plan.
