Pakistan claims to have launched targeted strikes on terrorist camps in the border region between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
On February 21, the Pakistan Ministry of Information and Broadcasting issued a statement stating that there have been a series of suicide bombings in Pakistan recently. The Pakistani authorities have obtained concrete evidence that these attacks were carried out by the terrorist organization "Pakistan Taliban" under the direction and control of their leadership in Afghanistan. The statement also mentioned that the "Pakistan Taliban" and its affiliated organizations, as well as the "Islamic State Khorasan Branch," have claimed responsibility for these attacks. The statement further mentioned that Pakistan has repeatedly urged the interim government of Afghanistan to take verifiable measures to prevent terrorist organizations from using Afghan territory to launch attacks on Pakistan, but no substantive action has been taken. In retaliation, Pakistan has conducted targeted strikes on 7 camps and hideouts belonging to the "Pakistan Taliban" and its affiliated organizations, as well as the "Islamic State Khorasan Branch" in the border region between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
