US Energy Secretary: Venezuela's oil revenue will no longer be deposited into Qatari accounts.
According to reports, U.S. Energy Secretary Wright said that Venezuela's oil revenue will no longer be deposited in an account in Qatar. Wright stated: "The account that was previously set up in Qatar has always been controlled by the U.S. government. The funds were first sent to that account and then transferred back to Venezuela from there. Now, we have opened an account in the U.S. Treasury Department. This money will no longer flow to Qatar." Wright also said that currently Venezuela's oil sales revenue has exceeded 1 billion dollars. He said that the U.S. has reached a short-term agreement with the country to sell another 5 billion dollars of their crude oil in the coming months. He added that so far, this oil has been sent to refineries in the U.S. and Europe.
