Niamey News: Chiani, Chairman of the National Committee for the Defense of the Homeland of Niger, said in an interview with the Niger National Broadcasting Corporation on the evening of the 13th that the armed attack in the area of Niamey's international airport, Hamani Diori, was planned and funded by France. Chiani said that according to intelligence held by Niger, since April 2025, the French Foreign Intelligence Agency and special forces have been supplying weapons and equipment to armed groups in the Lipetakou-Gourma area at the border of Niger, Mali, and Burkina Faso. Chiani also accused France of providing 3 billion West African Francs to armed groups. Chiani warned that France has not abandoned its plans to destabilize Niger, but the Niger Armed Forces and Security Forces are prepared to respond and firmly counter any form of aggression.
