On January 30th, the Chinese Consulate General in Milan issued a situation report on the case of a missing Chinese student in the Dolomites in northern Italy. After receiving a request for assistance, our consulate promptly activated the consular emergency mechanism, immediately contacted local police and carabinieri to inquire about the situation, and requested the authorities to take it seriously, conduct a thorough search, and promptly report the results. Currently, the police search operation is ongoing. Our consulate will closely monitor the progress of the case and provide necessary assistance to the family of the individual involved. The Consulate General in Milan once again reminds Chinese citizens in the consular district to pay close attention to the local weather and snow conditions before participating in winter outdoor activities such as hiking and mountain climbing, to correctly use professional equipment, and to carry essential supplies. Before traveling, inform family members of your itinerary, try to travel in groups, and avoid going alone to unopened mountain areas or snowy wilderness areas. In the event of an emergency, please contact rescue services or call emergency numbers immediately.
