On the 30th, the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement strongly condemning the United States for imposing a new round of oil blockade on Cuba, stating that Cuba will respond "firmly and calmly". President Trump signed an executive order on the 29th, threatening to impose ad valorem tariffs on goods imported to the US from countries that provide oil to Cuba. The Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs statement pointed out that this executive order aims to promote a comprehensive blockade of fuel supplies to Cuba. This action blatantly violates international law and undermines the principles of the Declaration of Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace. The statement reiterates that Cuba is always willing to engage in serious and responsible dialogue with the US government. Such dialogue should be based on the principles of sovereign equality, mutual respect, mutually beneficial cooperation, non-interference in internal affairs, and respect for national independence and sovereignty.
