On the 30th, members of the Congolese anti-government armed group "M23 Movement" confirmed that a large-scale landslide occurred in the Rubaya coltan mine area in the North Kivu province of the country's eastern region, resulting in the deaths of more than 200 people. A spokesperson for the "M23 Movement" said that on the 28th and 29th, several mines in the area collapsed, burying a large number of miners. The victims were mostly artisanal miners, as well as women and children.
