Henny Jung and Yoonki Bae, analysts at Yamato Capital, wrote in a report that while recent investor bets on solid-state batteries for use in robotics technology have driven strong buying interest in related stocks, the demand for batteries in humanoid robots may be "insignificant in quantity". They said that assuming annual sales of humanoid robots could reach 1 million units by 2030, the total battery demand brought by robotics technology is expected to reach a maximum of 10 gigawatt-hours per year, well below 1% of the predicted global demand for electric vehicle batteries. However, they added that the theme of robot batteries may provide support for the recent stock price momentum of key solid-state electrolyte suppliers such as Hansol Chemical. Hansol Chemical has already risen more than 20% this month.
