Toyota's affiliated company reached a settlement with the US side, involving an estimated compensation amount of 436 million US dollars, to settle a collective lawsuit in the US accusing it of cheating on emissions in nine models of forklifts. The settlement agreement will provide 300 million US dollars in cash compensation to buyers and lessees of approximately 272,000 forklifts from 2007 to 2021, with an expected compensation amount per vehicle ranging from 1400 to 2800 US dollars, depending on the number of claims.
