At the 2026 Hainan Province Tourism, Culture, Radio, Film and Sports Work Conference, it was revealed that in 2025, Sanya received 36.15 million tourists, an increase of 6.81% compared to the previous year, with total tourist spending reaching 103.26 billion yuan, an increase of 9.46% compared to the previous year, breaking the threshold of one trillion yuan for the first time. Among them, the number of overnight inbound tourists in Sanya exceeded one million for the first time: 1.0614 million inbound overnight tourists were received, an increase of 41.38% compared to the previous year, with spending of 9.34 billion US dollars, an increase of 66.65% compared to the previous year.
