The closing of the Hainan free trade port is imminent. Inside a one-stop aircraft maintenance industry base in Haikou, multiple inbound aircraft are receiving inspection, painting and other maintenance services. It is understood that inbound aircraft in Hainan can enjoy preferential policies of the Hainan free trade port, such as exemption from maintenance deposits, temporary entry for maintenance allowed for domestic sales, and bonded maintenance materials. The aviation maintenance companies in the base currently have aviation maintenance qualifications issued by aviation authorities from many countries and regions including the United States, European Union, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, and South Korea. They have undertaken maintenance work for more than 20 foreign companies including Qatar Airways, Royal Jordanian Airlines, and Thai Airways. Since the one-stop aircraft maintenance industry base in Hainan free trade port started operation in 2022, by the end of October this year, they have completed maintenance for over 2400 aircraft, over 280 aircraft painting jobs, and maintenance of 61,000 aviation components, serving nearly 50 domestic and foreign airlines and aircraft leasing companies.
