Henan Shangqiu Airport officially starts construction.

Today, construction officially started in Guantang Town of Shangqiu Airport in Henan Province. The flight area level of Shangqiu Airport is 4C, and it officially obtained approval from the National Development and Reform Commission on July 13, 2024. The total investment of the project is about 800 million yuan, planning to establish 8 aircraft parking aprons, equipped with 3 boarding bridges, build a 9,000 square meter terminal building, expand a runway that is 2,600 meters long and 50 meters wide, and construct taxiway systems and aprons. The design goal is to have a passenger throughput of 900,000 people and a cargo throughput of 3,600 tons by 2030; and by 2050, the goal is to have a passenger throughput of 2.8 million people and a cargo throughput of 7,800 tons.
