State Administration for Market Regulation: Strictly prohibit raising prices before offering discounts on Double Eleven. Prohibit illegal practices such as using big data to discriminate against customers.
The State Administration for Market Regulation has issued compliance tips for "Double 11", pointing out that platforms must strictly implement their main responsibilities. They must ensure that the information of merchants on the platform is true and effective, and all rules must be open and transparent. Illegal activities such as "either/or choices" and "big data discrimination" are prohibited. For promotion methods such as discounts, coupons, pre-sales, and price guarantees that are of concern to everyone, platforms must clearly inform users of the terms of use, refund process, and time limits, so that consumers can understand them clearly and shop with confidence. Platforms are not allowed to unreasonably interfere with merchants' pricing autonomy. It is strictly prohibited to raise prices before offering discounts or to falsely compare prices.
