In October, the prices of food, tobacco and alcohol rose by 0.2% month-on-month, causing the CPI to increase by approximately 0.07 percentage points. Among food prices, the price of fresh vegetables rose by 4.3%, leading to a 0.09 percentage point increase in the CPI; the price of fresh fruits rose by 1.2%, resulting in a 0.03 percentage point increase in the CPI; the price of eggs decreased by 1.7%, leading to a 0.01 percentage point decrease in the CPI; the price of meat decreased by 0.9%, causing a 0.03 percentage point decrease in the CPI, with pork price decreasing by 2.5% and affecting a 0.03 percentage point decrease in the CPI; the price of aquatic products decreased by 0.9%, leading to a 0.02 percentage point decrease in the CPI. Among the other seven major categories, there were three increases, one flat and three decreases. Specifically, the prices of other goods and services, education, culture, and entertainment, and healthcare increased by 3.8%, 0.3%, and 0.3% respectively; the price of clothing remained unchanged; the prices of household goods and services, transportation and communication, and housing decreased by 0.2%, 0.2%, and 0.1% respectively.
