On the 5th local time, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) of the United States stated that a United Parcel Service (UPS) plane caught fire on the left wing and the engine detached while taking off in Kentucky, leading to a crash. The crash has resulted in 9 fatalities, and Kentucky has declared a state of emergency to address the impact and aftermath of the crash. According to airport website information, as of the morning of the 5th, commercial passenger flights to and from Louisville have resumed.
