State Administration of Foreign Exchange: As of the end of June, China's banking sector held 1.7721 trillion US dollars in foreign financial assets and had 1.5377 trillion US dollars in foreign liabilities.

According to the Zhixin finance and economics APP, on September 29th, the State Administration of Foreign Exchange disclosed the data on China's banking sector's external financial assets and liabilities as of June 2025. As of June 2025, China's banking sector's external financial assets totaled $177.21 billion USD, external liabilities were $153.77 billion USD, and external net assets were $23.44 billion USD. Among them, RMB net liabilities were $31.71 billion USD, and foreign currency net assets were $55.15 billion USD.
