Feng Fei Aviation completed the world's first 2-ton class eVTOL flight on a sea-based wind power platform, round trip of 93 kilometers in 32 minutes.
According to Fengfei Aviation, on September 29, Fengfei Aviation Technology, in collaboration with Cangnan County People's Government and Huaneng Offshore Wind Farm, successfully completed the world's first 2-ton eVTOL offshore wind energy platform round-trip test flight. The V2000CG Kerry Seagull took off from Zhejiang Cangnan 168 Gold Coast Line hangar, flew to the Huaneng offshore wind power booster station platform, and completed the round trip of 93 kilometers in a total of 32 minutes, marking a breakthrough in the application of eVTOL technology in the low-altitude scene of offshore wind power platform maintenance. It is reported that traditional offshore wind power platform maintenance relies on ship transportation, with a one-way trip to the offshore booster station 46 kilometers away taking over 4 hours. The Fengfei Aviation Kerry Seagull aircraft used in this test flight is powered by pure electricity, can withstand wind speeds of up to 7, operate 24/7, and can reach the booster station platform "point-to-point" without the need to expand the dock, completing a one-way flight in just 16 minutes, increasing efficiency by more than 10 times.
