On September 29, TotalEnergies announced that it has signed an agreement with the private equity giant KKR to sell a 50% stake in its 1.4 gigawatt North American solar portfolio. TotalEnergies stated that this transaction aligns with its renewable energy business model, and upon completion of the deal and ongoing bank refinancing, the company will receive a total of $950 million in funding at closing. After the transaction is finalized, TotalEnergies will retain a 50% stake in the assets and continue to be responsible for operations.
