Ministry of Water Resources: The flood prediction period for major rivers in China has been extended from 3 days to 10 days.

"Currently, the nationwide flood forecasting period for major rivers has been extended from 3 days to 10 days, providing strong support for successfully resisting the largest flood in the Beijiang River Basin since 1915, as well as the '23.7' extraordinary flood in the Haihe River Basin. This has achieved monitoring and early warning of ecological flow control sections in 268 key rivers and lakes nationwide." said Zhang Xiangwei, Director of the Planning Department of the Ministry of Water Resources at a press conference held by the State Council Information Office today.
