At the 2025 World New Energy Vehicle Conference held today, Xiong Jijun, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, proposed to further support technological breakthroughs, accelerate breakthroughs in high-performance chips, operating systems, large models, new system batteries for vehicles, and enhance the internal driving force of industrial development; further expand market consumption, implement a new round of steady growth work plan for the automotive industry, optimize preferential measures such as purchase tax and vehicle tax for new energy vehicles, promote the penetration of new energy vehicles into rural areas, conduct comprehensive electrification pilots for public vehicles, pilot projects for charging and switching facilities in counties, and expand market consumption; further improve management systems, establish and improve access management systems for composite assisted driving and autonomous driving vehicles, explore the management of power battery carbon footprints; further deepen open cooperation, under the framework of the United Nations International Standardization Organization, strengthen standard mutual recognition, rule coordination, and create a more conducive environment for the global development of the industry.
